Lose the extra Holiday weight by riding your bike every day!
Now that the Holidays are over many of us find ourselves in the position where we wish we hadn’t eaten as much as we did during the Holidays, am I right? Well, no worries, as most things, this issue has a solution as well, and the first one that popped up in my mind when I tried on the new trousers I’ve received from Santa, was “you should really start riding your bike dude!” I own a great bike, however unfortunately it has been sitting in my garage for way too long I now have to admit.
When the kids were small we used to go out and ride our bikes together and we would have the best time outdoors. Why is it that everything that’s great and has a positive influence upon us, we somehow leave behind and immediately embrace other habits much less beneficial but more comfortable?! Well, let’s not get into that now, and focus on the most important fact here, that is the issue of losing your Holiday weight, as I am pretty sure I am not the only one in this position. So, I think that I can lose my Holiday weight in a month just by riding my bike for half an hour or an hour per day, as in one hour you burn around 500 calories. Not to mention the fun I’ll have when competing with my wife who is a great bike rider and loves it when I decide to join her in the park now and then. The best part is that by riding your bike, you get to exercise and you get to have fun in the companion of you family or friends. Being so busy and working all the time I believe we need this and we could use some relaxing moments spent in the company of people who are dear to you. I mean I’m sure your boss is no exception from the people dear to you, but still, you know…
So, if you haven’t already decided on your New Year’s resolution, riding the bike could make a good one, given the benefits are definitely multiple. More than that, you should call some of your friends too and go out for a ride in the weekend, I know for sure I will; and who knows maybe I’ll get into the habit of riding to work, too. That would be awesome!
This being said, I’m going to check my bike and get ready for my first ride this year!
