Keep Track of Your Biking
Whether you do it with a specialized GPS device, or just using an app on your smartphone it is always wise to keep track of your biking. Why? Because we as humans need to see that we can perform and we can improve, we can be better and face increasingly difficult tracks even if we do not prepare for a specific race…
Right? Don’t you feel the same? Everyone I spoke to seemed to relate. Whether beginner or highly advanced biker, invariably they all speak of the desire and the satisfaction that comes with overcoming difficult obstacles, or enduring long tracks with an enjoyment that only the participant can feel and understand.
Therefore, let us introduce you to several products that may help you in this endeavor. You can find a good selection on our website at www.bikepartsusa.com/Product-Directory-Computers-/Product-Directory-srk/Computers-drk/
Keep details of your training with PATHFINDER II an easy to install device that can provide you with instant information on speed (current/average/max) total time / ride time, odometer and trip distance, NiteLite, speed comparator, clock and 10 multi freeze frame memory – all that on a large LCD screen, easy to mount and use.
Or try the VETTA for more performance, easy programmable to monitor both your ride and your body (heart rate, min/max heart rate monitor, target HR zone)
There are many more products on our current offer but my goal here is to help you identify ways to measure and improve your bike performance so if you do not want to invest much in these, or just give it a try first, why not try one of the following apps. They have good reviews and may be of great help in the initial stages of your fun bike rides.
Here are the top five apps for iPhone. Every one allows you to track your exercise or training, even integrate with Twitter, Facebook or iPod . Some may require a separate dongle in order to monitor your heart rate. Other apps have integrated Google maps so you can share your trips to anyone you want on Facebook or brag about your time. Whether is one or the other, try some and use the one that suits you best. It is worth the effort.
Android fans, you have no excuse either. Strava,Bike Repair, Garmin Fit, Cyclemeter, Coach My Ride, are just the top apps. Keep digging for what is best for you. Then put it to good use.
That way, the tracks are going to be more exciting, the expectation of that time when you go out on the bike, having fun, breaking your own records, improving your endurance… all of that made better by keeping good track of your biking.
And why not, let us know how it goes. We’d love to hear from those of you whom benefit from the products or advice that we offer.
