What you need to know about the Bike Chain

You’ve probably heard the two theories that state: "Replace Your Chain Before It Wears Out" and "Lazy Person's Wait Until It's Finished"…
Well, the first theory has to do with constantly keeping an eye over your bicycle chain by checking it regularly, monthly and make sure you replace it as soon as it wears out. By doing this you assure a longer life to the other bike parts.
The second theory assumes that your bike is the one letting you know when it’s time for the chain to be replaced. When your bike chains stretch, cog sets and small chain rings wear out. At this point you are very close to the point when your bike will need a new chain replacement and a new small chain ring.
If you want to get the maximum life from your chain, you should consider three things:
- Quality of the Chain
- Maintaining the Chain
- Riding on the Chain
